Wails v3.0.0 Released With Multi-Window Support and Mobile Targets

The stable release of the Wails framework introduces multi-window support, modular Go services, and experimental mobile platform integration.

Wails v3.0.0 is available. This stable release of the Go framework for building desktop applications with a web frontend follows several alpha and beta builds.

Applications use the platform's native WebView instead of bundling a browser. Version 3 introduces support for multiple windows with individual content and configurations. You also get native menus and system tray support. Backend logic now organizes into modular Go services featuring startup and shutdown hooks. These services expose themselves to the frontend via generated JavaScript and TypeScript bindings.

Additional additions include an in-app updater, Taskfile-based customisable builds, a guided setup process, and new documentation. Experimental support for iOS and Android ships with the release.

Get started. Run go install github.com/wailsapp/wails/v3/cmd/[email protected] followed by wails3 setup.

If you are upgrading, a migration guide sits at v3.wails.io, while v2 documentation remains at v2.wails.io. Additionally, an official shop at shop.wails.io now sells merchandise like T-shirts, hoodies, caps, and mugs.
