Umbraco 19.0.0-beta1 Released With .NET 11 Support

Umbraco 19.0.0-beta1 arrives with .NET 11 support, a new unified search layer, enhanced reusable content features, and significant breaking changes.

Umbraco 19.0.0-beta1 is the first beta for the next major .NET CMS version, moving the platform to .NET 11 and opting into the runtime's new async model. You need to report any runtime async issues and review the pre-release guide, requirements, and breaking changes before upgrading.

Reusable content now works in every block editor, letting you pull items from the Library into the Block List, Block Grid, Single Block, and Rich Text Editor so edits propagate everywhere. Tiptap supports reusable blocks with name labels and reference icons, and Single Block and the regular block editor are now interchangeable. The Library tracks references for trash, delete, and publishing flows, and publishing documents pointing to unpublished Elements triggers a warning.

Search moves into core as the single layer for the backoffice, Delivery API, and templates, using Examine 4 final as the default provider alongside a new Library element search index, reusable block and external member indexing, file-to-text indexing extensions, and deferred index builds.

Multilingual and personalized sites gain explicit group-level permissions for culture-invariant properties on variant content, respected by scheduled publishing. Segments now travel with their language version and undergo validation at publish time, while Document Blueprints move to the Library with folders, permissions, and rules.

Breaking changes include upgrading ImageSharp to v4, cookie-based backoffice authentication, a reorganized launchSettings.json profiles section, renaming Umb.EntryPoint.Partial View to Umb.EntryPoint.PartialView, and deprecating the Multi Node Tree Picker. The beta includes 18.2.2 security fixes, patches for SQL Server and SQLite hangs, and builds on .NET 11 RC3.
