UltraEdit and UEStudio 2026.1 are available for Windows, bringing two Visual Studio 2026-inspired interface styles in light and dark variants alongside ready-made Windows 11 themes. You can generate a full custom theme by picking a foreground and background color from the Welcome page or Theme Manager.

Hex editing gains a dockable Encoding Preview pane that decodes selected bytes across Windows-supported encodings simultaneously, letting you change the number of bytes shown per line directly in the editor.

Git scanning no longer runs at startup; you can now choose when to scan, cancel running scans, and stop active git log commands. The integrated terminal improves character rendering, keyboard input handling, and Shift+Tab mode switching for command-line tools like Claude Code. SSH/SFTP support adds modern algorithms and compatibility options for older server environments.

Find in Files stays responsive during large searches without repeatedly opening and closing an unpinned Output window. File Lists now track recently closed files and drop missing items from recent lists. Word wrapping in large files is faster and more reliable.

Language support now covers Cerner Command Language, Algol 60, and Algol 68 with syntax highlighting and code navigation, while indentation can be set per language. The Pieces for Developers integration has been removed from the product family.
