Stack 4.1.1 Release Candidate Two Adds GHC 10.0 Support
The second release candidate for Stack 4.1.1 introduces GHC 10.0 support, improved Cabal integration, and a new info-table profiling flag for performance debugging.
Stack 4.1.1 release candidate two is out. You can manually download the binary now. GHCup prerelease channel support arrives soon.
This pre-release adds support for the upcoming GHC 10.0 release. The build system treats Cabal 3.18 as a tested library, which removes previous build warnings. GHC 10.0 is also recognized as a tested compiler now, letting you build without warnings on that version.
You get a new --[no-]info-table-profiling flag for the Stack build command. It stays disabled by default. Turning it on instructs the compiler to generate a new info table for every use of a data constructor inside the source program to assist with performance analysis and debugging.
Testing continues. If no significant obstacles appear, the stable Stack 4.1.1 version ships in the coming weeks. You should test the candidate against existing projects and report malfunctions to the repository.
