Microsoft Sets September 2026 Retirement for PowerShell 5.1 in Graph SDK
Microsoft has announced the phase-out of PowerShell 5.1 support for the Graph SDK by September 2026, coinciding with the release of the PowerShell 7-exclusive V3.
Microsoft started a 12-month retirement phase for PowerShell V5.1 support in the Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK.
Support ends on September 16, 2026. Alongside this schedule, Microsoft released V3 of the Graph SDK. V3 exclusively supports PowerShell V7.
Development teams must audit existing scripts for dependencies on outdated .NET assemblies. You need active testing to ensure scripts function inside the updated V7 environment.
