Laravel Adds Support For The HTTP QUERY Method

Laravel has introduced native support for the HTTP QUERY method, enabling developers to perform complex, cacheable search requests using request bodies instead of standard URL parameters.

Laravel now supports the HTTP QUERY method, defined in RFC 10008 as a safe, cacheable operation that accepts a request body. You can use it for complex search requests that exceed the limits of standard URL parameters or when working with large data sets that cause unwieldy GET requests.

This approach avoids overloading POST requests for data retrieval. You can define routes specifically for this method using the Route::query syntax, such as Route::query('/products/search', function () { return request()->input(); }).

Additionally, the integrated HTTP client now allows you to send structured data directly through the $response = Http::query() method.

However, support for the QUERY method is not yet universal across the web. Its effectiveness depends entirely on your configuration of HTTP servers, proxies, and infrastructure components, meaning integration must be evaluated against your specific server environment requirements before deployment.
