Kate Adds QML Hot Reloading and Qt Labs Introduces StyleKit
The Kate editor gains QML hot reloading for faster UI iteration while the Qt Labs team unveils StyleKit for unified styling across Widgets and Qt Quick.
Kate now supports QML hot reloading for live UI code updates without a full application restart. You can see interface changes immediately. This removes the compile-and-run cycle overhead entirely.
The Qt Labs team also introduced StyleKit, an experimental QML-based API. StyleKit provides unified styling for both traditional Widgets and Qt Quick interfaces. It gives you a consistent visual language across mixed interface technologies in complex projects.
Both features are available now for testing and integration in Qt-based environments.
