JetBrains Integrates SEGGER J-Link Tools Into CLion

JetBrains has updated CLion with native support for SEGGER J-Link debug probes, Ozone, SystemView, and a new AI-powered hard-fault debugging skill.

JetBrains and SEGGER announced updates on October 29, 2026, in Amsterdam, integrating SEGGER's J-Link, Ozone, and SystemView tools into JetBrains CLion. The latest CLion release introduces dedicated configuration for J-Link debug probes alongside direct access to the Ozone debugger and the SystemView real-time software analysis tool.

Additionally, the release adds an AI skill for hard-fault debugging on Cortex-M devices, including targets connected via J-Link. This skill decodes fault registers automatically and traces issues to their source by drawing on physical hardware data. Artemy Pestretsov, Head of C/C++ Ecosystem at JetBrains, and Dirk Akemann, Head of Technical Marketing at SEGGER, commented on the integration, noting that it connects coding, flash programming, advanced debugging, and real-time analysis while allowing AI agents to investigate faults using real debugger context from the device state.

J-Link supports over 15,000 microcontrollers and SoCs from more than 120 silicon vendors across various architectures, integrating with over 35 IDEs. JetBrains and SEGGER scheduled a free webinar to demonstrate the integration for November 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm CET. SEGGER, founded in 1992 in Monheim am Rhein, Germany, produces J-Link and J-Trace probes, Flasher programmers, and the emPower OS RTOS. JetBrains, based in Amsterdam, reports over 15 million users.
