Google Releases Server Side Cloud Swift SDK

Google has launched a new SDK enabling developers to build and deploy high-performance, memory-safe backend applications using Swift on Google Cloud.

Google released the Server Side Cloud Swift SDK.

You can now use Swift for backend applications. This moves the language beyond client-side development for Apple platforms. Google added native support to integrate Swift-based services into cloud infrastructure.

Swift provides data-race safety comparable to Rust. It also delivers predictable performance through reference-counted memory management. These attributes make Swift a functional alternative for server-side architectures that require safety and performance.

Languages originally tied to specific application domains are gaining traction in server-side computing. Swift now serves as another option for cloud-native development when building high-performance services. The SDK provides the tooling to deploy these applications within Google Cloud.
