Google Releases Open-Source Kubernetes Framework for AI Agents
Google has introduced an open-source framework that adds native primitives to Kubernetes for orchestrating, managing, and scaling autonomous AI agents.
Google released an open-source framework for managing autonomous agents inside Kubernetes. Kubernetes usually handles long-running services and batch jobs, but it lacks native primitives for the ephemeral, stateful, and event-driven needs of AI agents.
The project introduces control plane abstractions. These treat agents as first-class citizens to help developers solve task orchestration, state persistence, and resource lifecycle management challenges on traditional container orchestrators.
By decoupling agent logic from underlying cluster management, the framework handles memory and context requirements that differ from standard web microservices.
You can integrate the open-source project into existing Kubernetes clusters now. It provides a toolkit to standardize how you define and monitor agent deployments in development and production environments.
