Eclipse Exousia 3.0.2 Released With Quarkus Extension Support
Eclipse Exousia 3.0.2 arrives as an implementation of Jakarta Authorization 3.0, introducing a new Quarkus extension that enables the framework to pass the Jakarta Authorization TCK.
Eclipse Exousia 3.0.2 shipped on October 26 as the Eclipse EE4J implementation of Jakarta Authorization 3.0.
This version introduces a Quarkus extension, added in the 3.1.2 line, which allows Quarkus to pass the Jakarta Authorization TCK. Jakarta Authorization provides a low-level SPI for authorization modules. These modules handle subject-based security by checking if a subject holds a specific permission, and translate container security constraints for targets like Jakarta Servlet or Jakarta Enterprise Beans into those permissions.
Arjan Tijms is listed as the sole contributor for the update. The changelog covers three changes: merging the 3.0.1 release branch into main, adding the Quarkus extension, and updating the POMs for 3.0.2.
Project notes detail a TCK Maven run using mvn clean install -Pquarkus -T4. The build finished with BUILD SUCCESS in 1 minute 17 seconds, with every reactor summary module reporting SUCCESS. Tested areas include programmatic authentication, session registration, EJB propagation, and servlet and SOAP profile SPIs. Native mode is supported.
The full changelog compares the 3.0.1-RELEASE and 3.0.2-RELEASE tags in the eclipse-ee4j/exousia repository.
