Cursor Overhauls Subscription Model and Removes Included Model Credits
Cursor has restructured its subscription tiers by eliminating bundled third-party model credits and shifting key features to higher-priced plans.
Cursor changed its subscription model by removing third-party model allowances from all service tiers. You no longer receive a set credit amount for models like Claude or GPT under the new pricing structure. Instead, you must purchase these models separately at API list prices, and access to them now starts at the $30 Premium tier.
Previously, the $20 Pro plan included $20 in credit and the $60 Pro+ plan included $70 in credit. Those bundled allowances are gone. Base plan sticker prices now range from free to $8, $30, $100, and $200. Because the credits were removed, if you rely on Claude or GPT, you will likely pay more each month. A workflow that used to cost $20 for full third-party model usage now requires the $30 base fee plus separate API request costs.
Feature availability shifted too. Cloud agents and the Origin feature moved from the $20 tier to the $30 Premium tier, while team seats dropped in price from $40 to $30. If your workflow relies on Grok models, the updated structure includes a generous allowance for that specific model in the Premium tier.
Existing subscribers stay on current plans for now. Cursor support states these legacy plans will phase out later without a specific timeline, and you will get advance notice before any mandatory migration.
