Bitplatform Project Tests Reveal Critical Regressions in .NET 11 RC1
Automated testing of the bitplatform framework against .NET 11 RC1 has uncovered significant memory leaks and library-specific bugs affecting UI rendering and offline synchronization.
Testing the bitplatform open-source project on .NET 11 RC1 surfaced critical issues across the framework and its libraries.
A test suite of approximately 17,000 automated checks ran across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Android, Windows, and backend APIs. This process exposed regressions affecting memory management, UI rendering, and synchronization.
Specifically, the RateLimitingMiddleware contains a memory leak because the limiter fails to dispose properly, which increases memory consumption after applications stop. Memory leaks across the core runtime and extension libraries pushed the CI test process to 14 GB of memory usage. These leaks impact long-running services and disposed service providers.
Library regressions also appeared. BlazorWebView packages in RC1 pull outdated preview dependencies that stop the Virtualize component from loading items. Furthermore, the DataSync library fails on .NET 11 WebAssembly because SemaphoreSlim.Wait throws exceptions, breaking offline synchronization.
You should monitor tracking issues for these regressions during the development cycle.
